Jean is a mostly retired Nurse Anesthetist of 30+ years and has worked at Atrium (CMC) Main, One Day Surgery and Mercy Hospitals. She is a breast cancer survivor of two years and have had both of my knees replaced (this has been a game changer in daily activities). She considers herself to be very lucky to live where she does and to have excellent healthcare available and wants to be able to “give back” some of her gratitude.
A medical mission trip has been on Jean’s bucket list, but it seemed like one thing or another always prevented it (life gets in the way sometimes, doesn’t it?). She is very excited to be part of this team and to be able to broaden her world perspective.
Jean has three fabulous daughters, all living close by, a great son-in-law, four grandchildren (that light up her life!), an assortment of yappy dogs and a very mischievous cat. She enjoys traveling, sewing, quilting, reading and cooking. She is a test cook for Cook’s Illustrated, volunteers for Make Welcome (which is an organization that teaches sewing skills to refugees), and has found that with retirement she has been busier than ever! The next challenge for Jean is to hike Crowder’s Mountain at the end of October (all 357 steps!!!!). Fingers crossed!
