I started doing mission trips in my early 20’s through my church. I found that I had a passion for helping others and it lead me to my career as a surgical technologist where I’ve been able to help people daily for 14 years! I did my first medical mission to Nigeria in 2013 and knew that this was something I would do again and again. I went back to Nigeria in 2015, just after the Ebola outbreak, because I knew the reward would outweigh the risk. As much hard work as I put into helping the people of Nigeria, they gave me back so much more. Their genuine gratitude and happiness was worth every hot, sweaty, and exhausting day there.
I joined OpWalk Carolinas in 2017 I am excited to be a embarking on yet another mission trip with this amazing group of people, and look forward to many more in the future!
Also, what better way to see the world than to help others along the way!
