In January 2027, Operation Walk Carolinas will once again travel to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, from January 20–26, with a shared mission: to restore mobility, independence, and hope to people who are unable to walk because of severe arthritis and joint disease.

For many Hondurans, access to the quality health care we are fortunate to have in the United States is simply out of reach. A painful, arthritic hip or knee can dramatically change a person’s life, sometimes leaving them dependent on a wheelchair or confined to bed. When someone can no longer walk, work, or care for their family, the impact extends far beyond the individual and can threaten an entire family’s financial stability.

Operation Walk Carolinas was founded on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live with mobility and dignity, regardless of where they live or their ability to pay. Our team provides free hip and knee replacement surgeries to patients in underserved communities who otherwise would have little or no access to these life-changing procedures.

Your donation helps make this mission possible. Every contribution helps provide the surgical implants, medical supplies, medications, therapy, and compassionate care necessary to perform these procedures at no cost to our patients or their families. Donations also help offset the travel expenses of the physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and many other dedicated volunteers who give their time and expertise to serve these patients.
