Each Operation Walk Carolina mission represents an immense logistical undertaking. On average, 8,000 pounds of supplies (such as prosthetics, surgical equipment, medications, bandages, crutches, etc.) must be shipped ahead to the host country and cleared through customs before the mission can begin. This is in addition to the cost of transporting team members as well. On average, a typical trip to Honduras costs nearly $100,000+. Although many supplies are donated and team members are all volunteers, every other aspect of these mission trips are only possible through generous donations. 100% of donations go toward medical supplies, education, and the life-changing surgeries we provide.

A typical Operation Walk weeklong mission will often include the following:
• Pre-op
• Medical Students
• Anesthesiology
• physical Therapy
• Nursing
• Evaluation & Treatment
• Pre-Operation
• Post-Operation

  Covers transportation for the patient to and from the hospital

• $50

  Provides a walker for a patient after joint replacement

• $100

  Covers one night in the hospital

• $250

  Covers all diagnostic tests (X-rays, etc.) for a patient having surgery

• $500

  Covers the cost of Physical Therapy for five patients

• $1000

  Fully supports travel for a volunteer medical team member

• $2500

  Fully supports one joint replacement for a patient

• $5000

  Supplies critical medical equipment for the Operation Walk Team
