Lynne Ray

My name is Lynne Ray, PT and I am lucky to be a member of the 2027 Operation Walk Rehabilitation Team. I received my Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 1994 from UNC-Chapel Hill. I have been a physical therapist for 32 years with experience in acute care, skilled nursing facilities, home health and most recently in an integrative outpatient clinic.
This will be my second trip to Honduras with Operation Walk Carolinas. It is such a blessing to be apart of this highly trained, professional team. Lives are immediately changed after each patient receives either a total knee replacement or a total hip replacement. Not only are the patient’s lives changed but as a volunteer my life is also changed. In fact, I often feel like I gain more from the trip than the patients do. The service OpWalk Carolina provides is such a gift not only to each patient but to each volunteer. I am so grateful to be able to be apart of this trip.
It has always been important for me to give back. Utilizing my physical therapy training is one way I can do that. My goal in Honduras is to provide, evidence based scientific rehabilitation programs to each patient, ensuring that when they leave the hospital they are independent with a comprehensive home exercise program, and able to safely ambulate with or without assistive devices.
Operation Walk Carolinas would not be possible without the support from our friends, family and community! Thank you for your support!
