Bryan D. Springer, MD and a team from Operation Walk Carolinas are on a medical mission in Cuba this week. The team of sixty volunteers plans to complete 40-50 joint replacements and teach the Cuban medical staff about TJR procedures. Dr. Springer was interviewed by the local Charlotte, North Carolina CBS television station WBTV, and compared the access to hip or knee surgery patients have in the US, “In a place like Cuba, it’s never an option for them.” Full story.
